That said, the last story–The Door to the Other Side by Emery Lee– is problematic: a character who commits suicide says they regret doing so, but then, because of an attraction to another character, makes their regret conditional, saying that their choice was good in a way because they met the other character. A few other stories could have used some improvement, but overall, these are solid pieces of writing. I loved the various different settings and kinds of magic.
